In a July 10 site publication, the Pudgy Penguins NFT team confirmed plans to launch its highly anticipated non-fungible token mobile game in August 2025. Launched in July 2021, Pudgy Penguins is a non-fungible token project featuring a limited edition of 8,888 cute penguin birds hosted on the Ethereum blockchain network. The Pudgy Penguins creators are also responsible for creating Lil Pudgy, a non-fungible token collection featuring a limited set of 22,222 NFTs hosted on the Ethereum blockchain.

The Pudgy Penguins NFT creator announced plans to launch a mobile game sometime in May 2024. At the time, the team confirmed they had partnered with Mythical Games, a next-generation game technology company that champions true ownership of in-game items through innovative blockchain solutions. In the NFT space, Mythical Games is renowned for creating NFL Rival.
Launched in April 2024, NFL Rivals is a free-to-play, officially licensed NFL game. It combines arcade-style football game play with digital player cards, allowing players to build and manage their teams, compete in various game modes, and trade player cards. The game features both NFT and non-NFT players, offering them potential for higher performance and tradability. The game runs on the Mythos Chain, a blockchain network designed for NFT games.
