Rainbow, the non-custodial Ethereum wallet, confirmed on September 22 that it will launch its native RNBW token in the fourth quarter of 2025.
The new token will turn Rainbow’s existing points program into an on-chain asset. Points, introduced in December 2023, were designed to reward users for swaps and other wallet activity.
At one stage, Rainbow even offered extra points to people who had used rival MetaMask. That move was widely seen as a direct attempt to win over competitors’ users.

By linking points to a token, Rainbow is giving them financial value while also adding new incentives for trading and in-app activity.
The company described the rollout as part of a wider effort to reward its community and stay competitive in the growing wallet-token space.

What New Features Can Users Expect Inside the Rainbow Wallet?
According to the official announcement, the RNBW launch will come with technical upgrades, including rebuilt data pipelines and app infrastructure. Rainbow said the improvements were needed to support a larger and more active user base.
For now, the team has not shared details on distribution or market plans, but the confirmation ends months of speculation. By year-end, Rainbow’s users should know exactly how their points translate into the new token and how it compares to tokens from other wallets.
Users will soon see real-time portfolio pricing, instant balance updates, integrated candlestick charts, and an upgraded in-app browser for dapps across all EVM networks.
Rainbow also teased perpetual trading through Hyperliquid and a daily “King of the Hill” token game to drive activity inside the wallet.
The company confirmed that Rainbow Points will convert into RNBW and suggested that the token generation event (TGE) will release about 20% of the supply into circulation, though tokenomics are not final.

In another move, Rainbow proposed acquiring the token-launch platform Clanker in exchange for 4% of RNBW supply.
The offer signals an interest in bringing outside tools into its ecosystem. “You’ve been collecting Points for a reason. That reason comes from $RNBW. Coming Q4 2025,” the team wrote on X.
The announcement comes as wallet providers push to tokenize. Just last week, ConsenSys CEO Joe Lubin said a MetaMask token is “on the way” and may arrive sooner than expected.
