Hester Pierce Hints Future NFT Plans After Leaving The SEC

Hester Pierce, the United States Securities and Exchange Commissioner, popularly known in the crypto space as “Crypto Mom,” continues showcasing her relentless devotion towards crypto and non-fungible tokens. In her latest crypto push, the Crypto Mom has boldly shared her future non-fungible token plans after leaving the commission. Crypto Mom is waiting for a reappointment for the third time on the commission.

Hester Pierce Reveals Future NFT Plans

In a September 26 speech at Coin Centre, Hester Pierce, who was reappointed by HE. President Donald Trump, in 2020, for a second term as a commissioner for the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and slated to exit the commission this year, shared her future plan shortly after leaving the commission. As of September 2025, she has indicated she does not plan to seek reappointment for another term.

The SEC Commissioner Hester Pierce shared that she would enter the non-fungible token market as a creator after leaving the commission. She highlighted that even though she is not an artist or musician, she has gained a lot of material with which to work up an NFT collection. Hester noted that even though the SEC struck NFTs with stringent enforcement action, the SEC Chairman, Atkins, recently acknowledged that most NFT assets are not securities, attracting artists, musicians, and other creators back into NFTs.

Pierse has revealed that her first non-fungible token series would feature a set of characters that she has encountered in the world of crypto, especially at its current uncomfortable intersection with policy. The first NFT would be “CryptoMom herself.” These NFTs would feature a middle-aged, bespectacled techno-incompetent who wears an unglamorous suit and a slightly befuddled expression as she encounters concepts that challenge her no longer malleable, nearly boomer brain.

The second NFT collection would be “T-Squared: Terrified TradFi.” This NFT collection would feature a character wearing a suit, but a more costly one, a fancy watch, and, unlike CryptoMom, who is perfectly coiffed and never dishevelled. In this collection, T-Squared is hitting the send button on his latest missive to the SEC. If you squint, you can make out the words: “Ignore what I said in all my previous comment letters. All the existing securities rules are working great! Do not change them for those upstart crypto firms.”

Her third NFT would be the HyperTyper NFT collection. This exclusive NFT series would feature a character wearing a backwards baseball cap that has an SEC seal with a slash through it, an energy drink and a nicotine pouch that are close at hand as he hunkers in front of a basement computer, posting, trading, posting, trading. One X post insists crypto assets are not securities, so the SEC should stay away. The second post, which comes after his bags have been emptied by a scammer, screams: “Why isn’t the SEC doing anything about all the people manipulating crypto assets?”

Hester Peirce’s Crypto Achievement At The SEC

Peirce has often introduced and backed policy proposals favouring the NFT and crypto industry. Hester Peirce’s key crypto achievements at the SEC include advocating for a regulatory safe harbour to create a clearer framework, promoting a principles-based approach over strict crypto enforcement, and encouraging international collaboration to foster innovation while protecting investors.

She also supported “Project Crypto” to modernize existing rules and is actively engaging with the industry through roundtables and a road show to understand challenges and build a workable regulatory path. Following the departure of former SEC Chairman Mr Gary Gensler in January, she announced the launch of a “Crypto Task Force” aimed at developing a framework for digital assets.
