So I broadcast a Bitcoin transaction, everything went fine. An hour later it still hadn’t been confirmed so I did an RBF in my Sparrow wallet. I hit “broadcast” on that new transaction, and it did the little slide-back-and-forth thing, then said “Time out searching for transaction in mempool. It is safe to rebroadcast transaction.” (I looked for the new transaction in my local mempool and sure enough, it’s not there.) After about 10 minutes of clicking the re-broadcast button, I figured something was wrong with my local server, so I rebooted it. Just for kicks I rebooted my laptop as well after properly closing Sparrow Wallet.
Now, when I load Sparrow, there’s no transaction at all, nor on my local server’s mempool — neither the original transaction nor the RBF transaction shows up in either place! (Thank God for browser history or I’d have no record at all that the transactions had ever taken place!)
What the heck did I do?
