Peter Brandt’s Long-Term XRP Chart Points to $5.40

XRP investors received a bullish long-term projection on Sept. 21 as veteran trader Peter Brandt shared on X a monthly chart implying an eventual advance to $5.40. The target would place XRP well above its recent range and more than triple the price recorded when he published the chart.

Brandt wrote:

“This is my long-term chart of $XRP It implies an eventual advance to $5.40.”

“A claim of a ‘call’ or simple presentation of a chart is NOT a trade. People who claim ‘trades’ need to provide proof or else the claims are BS. An X post is NOT proof,” he added.

Brandt entered the commodity trading business in 1976 and founded Factor Trading in 1980, where he focused primarily on proprietary capital. His career in classical chart analysis also includes managing institutional trading activity and writing two books on commodity trading and chart patterns.

The veteran trader distinguished a public price forecast from an executed trade. His chart presents a bullish XRP call based on technical analysis, but proving an actual trade would require records showing the entry, exit, and result. His use of “eventual” frames $5.40 as a long-term objective. From $1.54, XRP would need to gain approximately 251% to reach that level.

XRP Price Holds Near $1.54 After Touching $1.57

Bitcoin.com Markets data placed XRP at $1.54, up 8.7%, or $0.12, over 24 hours. The token traded between $1.41 and $1.57 during that period.

The one-day chart showed XRP setting its $1.41 low early in the session before climbing steadily through most of the period. The advance peaked at $1.57 late in the session, after which XRP eased back to $1.54.

That left XRP about 2% below its 24-hour high and roughly 9% above its low. The session’s full range spanned about 11% from low to high.

Ripple and XRPL Developments Accompany XRP Rally

Institutional infrastructure expanded the same day as South African lender Absa launched Absa Digital Asset Custody, built on Ripple’s custody technology. The Sept. 21 launch placed the service inside one of Africa’s largest banking groups, 11 months after Ripple and Absa announced their partnership.

Institutional access forms one component of 21Shares’ broader investment case for XRP. The asset manager identified regulatory clarity, institutional access, measurable utility, and fixed supply as four central pillars, while noting that expanding XRPL activity may not translate directly into sustained XRP demand.

21Shares separately argued that growing XRPL activity could support XRP demand through transaction fees, account reserves, and bridge transfers. The firm cited about $4 billion in tokenized assets and approximately $1.6 billion in RLUSD supply, with more than half circulating on XRPL.

The rally also followed the Senate’s rejection of cloture on the CLARITY Act in a 49-50 vote. Ripple maintained that the failed CLARITY Act vote did not change XRP’s established legal position or disrupt demand across payments, stablecoins, and institutional markets.
