I am using the Blockstream app on my Android phone. Previously, I have mostly dealt with on-chain coins and so a noob when it comes to lightning or liquid.
The when I click on Receive in the Blockstream app, it offers me a choice from
- Bitcoin
- Bitcoin (Lightning)
- Liquid Bitcoin
What’s the difference between Lightning and Liquid here? Both ask me for a specified amount and generate the Invoice after I enter the amount. But both strings look like
lightning:LNBC1M1P59Z5MY***
Does it mean whether I get Liquid or Lightning, it does not matter? They are both same so far as this wallet goes?
Previously, I tried Aqua wallet, and Liquid addresses looked different, they also did not need a pre-determined amount, just an address.
Also, if I am use my BTC for retail purchase, how do I convert them to lightning? The Blockstream does not seem to offer any Swap option.
