No Foul Play? Police Probe Harry Yeh’s 30th Floor Death Dive
The mysterious circumstances surrounding the death of Harry Yeh, managing partner and founder of Quantum Fintech Group, an investment fund that managed over $2 billion, continue to be investigated by local police.
In the early morning hours of August 7, Yeh fell to his death from the 30th floor of the Jade Park apartment complex in Asuncion, Paraguay, and was found completely naked with a black bag covering his body.
Autopsy reports registered by local media stress that signs are consistent with a death due to multiple trauma resulting from a fall. Forensic pathologist Pablo Lemir, Director of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences at the Public Prosecutor’s Office, explained that no gunshot wounds or sharp object trauma were evident on Yeh’s body.
Nonetheless, due to the state of Yeh’s remains, no toxicology test could be executed as no blood could be extracted to determine if he was under the influence of any substances before his death.
Francisco Ávalos, director of Police in Asuncion, revealed that a worker of the apartment complex saw a foreigner wandering naked the day before, in the same way that Yeh was found after his fall.
“He said he saw him wandering through parts of the building completely naked. And it just so happens that the very next day, this person fell to the ground in that same state of nakedness,” Ávalos declared during an interview.
Ávalos pointed out that Yeh could have been “mentally affected or had a substance abuse problem or some medication that could have unbalanced him.”
Regarding foul play, Ávalos did not rule it out but stressed that entering the zone without being seen was difficult because of the complex’s safety measures.
“My impression is that entering that area is a bit complicated because they have all the security measures in place, and the people entering that tower are also subject to the security protocols implemented by the complex itself,” he concluded.
Even so, Yeh’s apartment was found in a state of disorder after his death, something that Avalos ties to a possible rage episode. The investigation continues to clarify Yeh’s death, which occurred during a worldwide rise of wrench attacks against high-net-worth crypto holders.
