Key Takeaways

  • Strive grabbed 1,110 BTC for $81.5M, pushing its bitcoin stash to 21,356 BTC.
  • Strive’s cash jumped to $171.9M as fresh equity kept feeding bitcoin buys.
  • Matt Cole must keep bitcoin-per-share growth ahead of Strive’s rising share count.

The company bought bitcoin between Aug. 17 and Aug. 21 at an average price of $73,409 per coin, including fees and expenses. Chairman and CEO Matt Cole announced the transaction Monday, pointing investors toward Strive’s regulatory filing for the finer details.

“Strive acquired an additional 1,110 BTC for $81.5M at an average cost of $73,409 per bitcoin, bringing total holdings to ₿21,356,” Cole wrote to his 35,000 followers on X.

Strive Drops Another $81.5 Million Into Bitcoin

The purchase, according to the firm’s SEC filing, pushed Strive’s holdings from 20,246 BTC to 21,356 BTC. With bitcoin recently changing hands around $77,000 to $78,000, the freshly acquired coins were already worth roughly $85 million to $86 million when the transaction hit the tape.

More tellingly, Strive’s cash pile grew even while it was buying bitcoin. Cash and cash equivalents jumped from $154.8 million on Aug. 14 to $171.9 million on Aug. 21, showing the capital-raising machine is refilling the tank while management keeps scooping up BTC.

But that money is not free. Strive’s Class A common shares outstanding jumped by roughly 3.65 million to about 79.9 million, while SATA preferred shares increased by approximately 441,000. Common and preferred equity issuance continues doing the heavy lifting behind its bitcoin buying spree.

Strive’s Equity Machine Keeps Feeding the Treasury

Strive was founded in 2022 by entrepenuer and politican Vivek Ramaswamy alongside Anson Frericks before making its hard pivot toward bitcoin. After completing a reverse merger with Asset Entities in September 2025, the company emerged as a publicly traded asset manager with bitcoin balance sheet planted squarely at the center.

Its treasury took another leap in early 2026 when Strive completed its all-stock acquisition of Semler Scientific. That deal dropped approximately 5,048 BTC onto its balance sheet in one shot, catapulting the company into the upper ranks of publicly traded corporate bitcoin holders.

Instead of leaning heavily on convertible debt, Strive has favored common stock and SATA, its Variable Rate Series A Perpetual Preferred Stock. The trade is straightforward: raise capital below bitcoin’s long-term appreciation and use that spread to put more bitcoin behind each share over time.

Strive Races to Keep Bitcoin Ahead of Dilution

That math matters because every new share brings dilution. Strive tracks bitcoin-per-share performance and what it calls “Bitcoin Yield,” a metric showing whether its BTC accumulation is actually outrunning the steady expansion of its share count.

The equation gets uglier when bitcoin falls or financing gets expensive. Bitcoin remains volatile, and every additional common or preferred share raises the bar for how efficiently Strive must deploy capital to keep its per-share bitcoin numbers heading in the right direction.

Strive also has another engine running underneath the operation. The company manages nearly $3 billion across exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and other investment products, generating fee revenue alongside its bitcoin treasury play. Still, BTC has increasingly swallowed the spotlight on its balance sheet and among investors.

Strive’s Bitcoin War Chest Closes In on $1.7 Billion

At recent bitcoin prices, Strive’s 21,356 BTC stash is worth roughly $1.65 billion to $1.7 billion. That plants the company firmly among the bigger publicly traded corporate bitcoin holders less than a year after launching its public treasury strategy. At press time, the firm’s balance sheet of bitcoin makes it the seventh largest publicly traded (BTC-centric) DAT.

What happens next comes down to whether Strive can keep tapping capital markets without letting dilution outrun bitcoin per share. With Cole still deploying fresh money into BTC, the numbers to watch are equity issuance, SATA financing, cash reserves and the next bitcoin buy as Strive tests how long this accumulation machine can keep running.
