Robinhood Puts $25M Into Bitcoin, Citing Belief in Crypto’s Future
Robinhood is adding bitcoin to its corporate assets, extending its exposure beyond the cryptocurrency services it offers customers.

Editor’s Comment:
$25 million isn’t a market moving amount, but a revival of the “companies putting BTC on the balance sheet” story could be another great narrative for the bull market. As one of the marquee American companies in retail finance, Robinhood sets a great precedent for other companies in the future to do the same.
US Government Shifts $1 Billion in Bitcoin, $94 Million in Tether
Following two days of bitcoin transfers totaling $770 million, federal wallets moved another 12,267.02 BTC worth approximately $1.01 billion on Thursday.

Editor’s Comment:
It’s hard to know what’s going on with transfers of this nature. It could be basic security practices, diligence in anticipation of “Q day,” or perhaps a move to sell. We are still waiting for official word on a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve (SBR), but bulls may wonder if a series of government wallet movements could be preparation for such.
‘Bunker Mode’? Crypto Experts Argue Over AI Threat to Bitcoin, Ethereum
Blockchain researcher Justin Drake is urging cryptocurrency holders to prepare for “bunker mode,” warning that artificial intelligence (AI)-driven mathematical discoveries could…

Editor’s Comment:
Drake’s warning is probably premature, and for the average person, moving around assets on-chain in preparation for Q Day simply adds more attack surface and raises the chance of doing something wrong. However, the point is legitimate, and the industry will have to make some tough choices over the next several years.

Another survey of investors with deep pockets signals strong interest in digital assets, especially bitcoin, as these assets were the most common pick for the best long-term performer among wealthy respondents.

Editor’s Comment:
Given the younger generations’ bigger inclination toward digital assets, this trend will only accelerate. 65%-86% of respondents of this survey cited currency debasement as a reason to hold Bitcoin, which is another trend that is not currently showing signs of stopping.
Ray Dalio Just Put a Three-Year Clock on a US Debt Crisis
Bridgewater Associates founder Ray Dalio told Bloomberg on Oct. 6 that the U.S. could face a debt crisis within three years as interest payments crowd out the rest of the federal budget.

Editor’s Comment:
Dalio is probably the most legitimate and logical doomer out there. While it’s hard to time a debt crisis and create an actionable investment thesis for it, there’s no denying that the US’ spending problem is getting out of control. The US government also violated Ferguson’s Law in 2024, which states that any country that spends more on debt servicing than military expenses risks a fiscal crisis and the loss of its global influence.
