Chainalysis advised affected organizations to remain alert for suspicious activity, including unexpected password-reset requests and authentication prompts.
The company also stressed that the incident was unrelated to the recent $6.3 billion Binance security breach, which has become one of the largest cryptocurrency thefts on record.

The Chainalysis incident comes at a particularly sensitive time for the cryptocurrency sector, which is already dealing with the fallout from the massive Binance exploit.
Chainalysis has been among the blockchain intelligence firms tracking the stolen assets and investigating the attack. The company has also linked suspected North Korean hacking groups to a significant share of cryptocurrency thefts.
In a recent statement, Chainalysis reported that suspected North Korea-linked operations accounted for nearly 89% of reported crypto hacking losses in 2026, compared with approximately 15% in 2021.
