bitcoin core – Why does illicit content matter on OP_RETURN, but not in inscriptions? What is the technical detail, leading to a difference from a legal perspective?

All pro/contra bitcoin-politics aside, what’s the reason that the anti-spam fraction is so scared of illicit content in OP_RETURN, while illicit content on inscription is already possible and way cheaper? Why should illicit content have bad legal consequences, if stored in OP_RETURN, but not in inscriptions?

As a node runner, you cannot ignore OP_RETURN and you will have illicit content on your node. But the same counts for inscriptions, no? You can’t just ignore inscription data afaik.
